Abstract: Composite microparticles containing chitosan and alginate were prepared in aqueous solutions containing with HCl or acetic acid (HAc). Two types of microparticles were prepared and characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and TGA. The average size and polydispersity index (in parentheses) are reported for the chitosan -based microparticles as 289.7 ±4.4 nm (0.2) and 402.6 ±6.0 nm (0.3), according to DLS measurements at ambient conditions.
